Moments of Breaking Through

The moment of breakthrough isn’t always one of total clarity.

Sometimes it is a soft gentle touch at the back of your neck reminding you: “These things take time. Anything of value is never rushed.” 

As I sit here quietly observing the soft, wet snow on the frozen ground I am reminded of that impatient ache that comes with the thawing of winter. Not all of Spring's glory is revealed at once. Mostly now it is slow crawl out from the depths, as the energy rebirth finds its way quietly to the earth's surface.

Delicate.
Careful.
Nearness.

There is strength in these moments when one remembers we are all always in a process. And though we might hunger for results, sometimes we must wait through the long slow haul of remembrance.

Creativity is a sacred process. It is part of the indwelling light of recognition that we have something to say, something to share, something to show. Something that has emerged out of the deepest core of our being.

Creativity is a courageous act.
An act of heart.
An act of meaning.
An act of purpose.
An act of rebirth.

As nature cycles through her own process, I sit here, and reflect on my own coming again into the light. It isn't always easy to rebuild the faith one needs to shine their own creative spark outward. This origin point of faith is preserved deep within the self.

Some may not even allow their most intimate creative spark to ever surface for fear that once seen it will be dismissed, defaced or disregarded. This is when we know there is healing to be done through creativity. To meet ourselves at the threshold between inner and outer worlds, and let ourselves be seen.

It is a vulnerable coming to. We may even retreat over and over again until we are ready to recognize that this ebb and flow is the aliveness behind the creative flow. It is a rhythmic dance of the universe playing out for us in our own lives. 

As the winter ground thaws there is crystalline white snow still blanketing the earth. A small patch of snowbells have sprouted. Buds of new growth show themselves timidly and await the moment when the air warms to the degree that delicate green can be supported.

The whole web of life is supporting the beauty and delicacy of nature's innate cycles. The eagerness is there, and so is the silence. I am held by both.

Impatient and hopeful until time signals the full emergent unfolding.
