Holding Your Own In Times of Deep Change
Self-preservation is a radical act.
When there is pressure it’s hard to slow down. When there is overwhelm, it can be hard to feel.
And yet there is a way to come back to yourself gracefully.
Knowingly.
In times of great change and uncertainty, this becomes the practice.
Who says you have to live at break neck speed?
Especially when there is so much more here for you if you take the time to slow down. If you take the time to notice. If you take the time to feel yourself. To care for yourself.
Who says you have to fixate on the next best thing?
Especially when what you have right now, right here, is worth your while. Worth paying attention to. Worth your gratitude.
It may not feel natural or even accessible right now to soften and slow down entirely, but it is necessary.
When the world feels wildly chaotic and unsafe, can you come back to yourself? Can you remember how?
Preserving your energy is not a luxury. It is of paramount importance. Caring for yourself is essential. Caring for your life, your loved ones, the land you live on is a duty.
Place emphasis on the things you deeply value and cherish and they will nourish you in return.
It is time we put focus on where it is needed. On the soul level of things. On the heart level of things. On the things that matter.
When we forget the inner realms, forget to tend to ourselves, we become ghosts to ourselves. We become foreigners in our own life.
When these vacancies of self pervade our being they make room for unwanted hosts: hostility, conflict, doubt and despair.
To regularly fill up your own energy is essential. It means you have integrity. It means integration. It means you can hold your own in times of deep change.
To know and to feel who you are at a deeper level is not a trendy or nice thing to do - it is a radical life affirming act.
It is an act of radical kindness.
It is an act of preservation of all things holy.
It is an act of freedom.
Your way of being matters.
It honors not only yourself, but your part in the healing of the whole.
Your way of being supports the well-being of the whole.
May we remember, for the wellbeing of all, how to come home.
Yours for the journey,
Andrea
